Dr. Anita Natarajan
MD, CCFP
Dr. Anita Natarajan (she/her) has been a practicing family doctor for over two decades, and is currently a physician lead at TELUS Health MyCare. She has a background in biopsychology – the study of how the brain influences behaviour – and training in drug-free insomnia therapy.
During her years in practice, Anita has found that insomnia is one of the top complaints from her patients. People often tell her that they’ve tried everything, but with limited success. As she listened to patients’ stories of remedies they’d tried, and how poor sleep impacted their mental health, she realized that there were a lot of misconceptions about how to get good sleep. She hopes to provide a primer on some of the basic principles of sleep: what works and what doesn't, and most importantly, why. Anita’s hope is to provide actionable advice to get you started on your first steps toward better sleep.
